Olympic Proportion Snowflakes!

How about our U.S.A. Olympics Team! It has been a joy watching each of the competitions, cheering on the medalists, bursting into applause at challenges met with grace and crying in triumph while our national anthem plays. Lots of memories from these games.

If you have a future Olympian in your family – why not pick up some of the Olympic fabric that is in the shop and put together a strip quilt or throw and surprise them as your gold medalist. If you need some inspiration we have tons of it in the shop. Quilt and class samples, patterns, books, and magazines.

Better Homes and Gardens outdid themselves this quarter with two great magazines – “Quilts & More” and “Halloween Tricks & Treats”. (We peaked inside the Halloween one and there are an over abundance of ideas for the little ones – and the big ones!) The “Best Christmas Quilts” and “Quiltmaker” feature some really nice patterns for quick and easy holiday quilts. And speaking of holidays – we are beside ourselves with the new Moda “Snow Day Batiks” that arrived this week.

This picture does not due justice to this fabric. There is yardage, charm packs, jelly rolls and fat quarter bundles. (Shhh…don’t tell the boss. We opened up one of the charm packs and drooled!) And we are excited to say that Bobbi is back! Want to know how we can tell (other than her pleasant smile and charming laugh) –

KITS! Bobbi was taught by none other than Sandra and is our current resident expert. Let’s see – she’s been in three days now and pretty much every kits she’s made has sold. (I guess you were missed, Bobbi!) The above are some of the Christmas Table Runner kits in the works. If you think you might enjoy one, you might want to get to the shop quickly.

As for the title of this post, we are not sure about you, but a few snowflakes sure would be a nice treat to the humidity we are having. Of course, we’ll all be wishing for more of the humidity come this winter. Enjoy the outdoors, stop by and see what’s new and remember – we LOVE show and tell!

  1. Hello, I’m interested in the black olympic ring fabric to use for a quilt backing. How do I order it? I live in British Columbia, Canada. email is
