The color crayon challenge

One of the local quit guilds had their color challenge last night.  The group members were all given three crayons and challenged to design a quilt project around them.  It was really interesting to see what ideas everyone came up with!

Light green, dark green and purple.

Brown, pink and blue.  It was quilted with hearts, and all ready for the new baby!

This picture did not turn out well, but I loved this quilt!  I don’t know what her colors were, but she won judges choice.  The backing on the quilt is a color crayon fabric.

White, blue, orange and tiny!!!  The whole quilt was perhaps 14″ square…

This was another quilt made the same person as the one above.  There are several fish swimming around on that quilt.  Very nice!

If your quilt guild is looking for a fun way to try something new, this is a good way.

In the shop this week we have kits ready for the new Tula Pink strip quilt.

Kind of coral pinks, and teals with that fun Prince Charming print!  I put white minkee on the back. ..yummy!

Here is that silly frog and bee fabric, it just makes you smile!

Remember double “carnival cash” with all your purchases through Sunday!  Just mention the blog when you are checking out.

Later, Sandra

  1. love your new strip quilt , the white minkee is devine!!

  2. Hi Sandra,
I was in the shop Aug 7th for our monthly Applique Society meeting,, and of course, I had to find the Bareroots trunk show,, and what a SHOW !! I did purchase the bday candles pattern, and also the pattern for the little quilt squares and the kit!! Just wonderful…

  3. Just goes to show good things come back around. I made that crayon quilt for Forrest, who is now 24, when Levi was born, now 17. Where does the time go?

  4. We cut two colorways for that strip quilt. One that has the coral, teal and white and the other with the teal, white and yellow. Both very fresh!
