The wedding

Here are the lovely bride and groom!  Patrick is my nephew and Sammy his new wife.  They have been together eight years, including a four year college separation.  They live in Vancouver, BC so we had a huge onslaught of people from around the world.  We had family from Paraguay, New York, Texas, Washington DC, and Virginia.  Not bad for our little family.  It was wonderful to be able to share the day with them.

This is the  quilt that I gave to the bride and groom.  When I asked what colors they wanted, his mother said ‘neutral’.  Hmmm I just couldn’t get into neutral…So…instead I gave them a traditional log cabin quilt that is all scrappy.  This couple is by far the least traditional couple I know…Oh well, I hope they like it.  It is huge!  About 90″ square, the groom is 6″4″ or more…

To show you just how non-traditional they are…here is there wedding cake.

Yes, the reception theme was Star Wars!  I’ll let that sink in a minute…We were seated at the Death Star table, I wonder if there is a hidden meaning there…

In other news, I forgot to show you the new fabric that came in for the ’50’s shop hop.  Elvis!  This picture was taken when the plastic was still on the fabric, so it is kind of hard to see.  But, if you are an Elvis fan you will want some!  There are about eight pieces in the collection.  We also have strip quilt kits and pillowcase kits, perfect holiday gifts for a fan!

Shop hop continues through Saturday, so come and play!

Later, Sandra
