Are you feeling lucky?

The Virginia Quilt Museum, in Harrisonburg, is a treasure, for quilters here and beyond Virginia.  The museum opened in 1995 and in 2000 it was designated the official quilt museum of the Commonwealth.

The quilt museum is a nonprofit organization governed by a board of directors. It is operated by a strong and dedicated group of volunteers and is supported primarily by its admissions, memberships, donations from individuals and groups, and by grants.     (

The museum building itself is beautiful, but look at some of the goodies inside…

I sure wish I had seen this exhibit!

Now, for feeling lucky…As part of the continuing fundraisers within the museum, they are having a quilt raffle!

The Virginia Quilt Museum  is proud to present the new opportunity quilt for 2011-2012. The quilt was inspired by the Green Family Album Quilt of the Virginia Quilt Museum’s permanent collection. Our thanks go out to the Old Dominion Applique Society that hand appliqued the quilt. We also want to thank Gayle P. Ropp who hand quilted the piece. This quilt measures 85″ x 85″. All proceeds go to help the Museum pursue its mission of preservation and education!

The winning ticket will be drawn on December 1, 2012.  Tickets are 1$ each, so get yours today!   Tickets can be purchased by phone  (540)-433-3818 or email the Museum.

Would this quilt not make a fabulous addition to your home!

Good luck!  Sandra
