Spotlight on Sue Cruthers

Sue teaches our beginner quilt classes,

and intermediate quilt classes at the shop.

(Above are the samples for what you make in those two classes).

But as you can see from this shop display, she has much more advanced talent too!

She has quite a few beautiful quilts on display at the store right now.  Come and check out her beautiful work!

In addition, there are several posters in the display depicting sewing/quilting projects she has taught overseas.

Sue has been involved with many mission trips, including visiting Columbia and Argentina.  In addition she has done a lot of work in South Africa.

Along the way, she began teaching women (eight at a time) the art of quilting.  The efforts have been a huge success, in some cases allowing these women a way to create and sell their work.

Sue brings kits for her classes, supplies all of the basic sewing supplies and fabric.  Often relying upon the donation of friends to acquire everything she needs.  If you are interested in learning more about her mission trips, or how you might help, please visit her church’s website.  Bethel Baptist Church at    http://www.bbcva.org/

How does that resume sound for a beginning class!  Quite exciting isn’t it!

Later, Sandra

  1. She is such a fabulous teacher! I enjoyed my classes with her. I would recommend her classes to new quilters.
