Wow, great job everyone!

Remember the Just One Star blocks we were collecting at the shop?

Minick and Simpson, along with Moda, were asking quilters to make one star block and mail it to them to be put into quilts for service men and women.

This is the what the quilt they are making looks like.  The goal was to get 1800 stars to make 100 quilts by June 14th, flag day.

Any guesses how many blocks they received???? 12,000!!!  With more envelopes still to be opened!  Instead of making 100 quilts, they expect to make closer to 1000 quilts!  Not by this Flag Day though…What a fabulous response!  Thank you to everyone at the shop who participated!  I hope to have some finished pictures of the actual quilts next week.

On another topic…last week Sue ordered some Tulle Pink fabric called Prince Charming.  On the fabric is the head of a frog and a fly.  Holly could not find them in the picture.  Try telling someone over the phone, looking at computer images, where the frog is.  Seriously, they are called reading glasses!

Anyway, I found a better image for her, maybe she can see it this time!

OK, not usually my thing, but this guy is pretty darn cute!  I forget when this fabric is coming, sometime soon.  I better get some!

Later, Sandra

  1. That’s because QUILTERS ROCK!! 😀

  2. I will be visiting the home quilt shop of Tula Pink in July. I have loved her stuff for years. I will be in Kansas City in early July and have a road trip planned to include the Quilt Store Tula’s Mother owns. Yeah!

    • Wow, have fun!!!!
