New books too!

In case all of the fabric that we’ve gotten in the last week or two wasn’t enough…we got a big shipment of new books!  Hot off the press from ‘That Patchwork Place’.

The Civil War Sewing Circle looks like my favorite of the bunch!  It is from Kathleen Tracy and combines quilt projects and historical tidbits.  Great projects for all those Civil War era fabric I’m collecting…The book has 16 projects including both large and small quilts, a pincushion, sewing box and needle keeper.  Also historical photos and letter excerpts from soldiers during the Civil War.  $24.99

Next is Fancy to Frugal by Kay Connors and Karen Earlywine.  $26.99

This book has ten different patterns, authentic to the 1930’s  Intricate hand quilting is highlighted in all the quilts in the book.  You know we have lots of 30’s fabric at the shop, just waiting for some new inspiration!

Then there is S is for Scraps by Gayle Bong.  $26.99   I love scrap quilts!  So, I might have to have this book too.  Scrap patterns are also a great way to use charm packs, layer cakes and other precuts…of which I have a few…This book not only has patterns but also has detailed information about choosing fabrics for scrap quilts for the best results.  18 patterns to choose from, with a traditional flavor.

We also Scrap Basket Sensations, More great quilts from 2 1/2 inch strips.  This is Kim Brackett’s second book using strips.  The cover quilt of her first book is all batiks and this is all 30’s.  Remember the librarian telling us not to judge a book by it’s cover…hmmmm  The book has 18 patterns, with clear instructions for all skill levels.  $24.99

We also received more copies of Pennies From Heaven.

I can’t wait to get a good look at all of these…

Later, Sandra
