Time to finish some projects?

Last night at our guild meeting we had a UFO (unfinished object) challenge.  Each member was asked to bring a project that they had put away, and commit to finish it in the next year.  What fun to see all of the projects and to hear the stories of why they were not finished.  I was impressed that the oldest UFO was only 13 years old.  We laughed about how many projects we had tucked away…Some of us admitting we had more then 30 or 40 or more…  I am very suspicious of those couple of members who claimed to not have any UFO’s…that’s not right!

I will give Loni a break though, this huge quilt is all hand pieced and she is going to hand quilt it!  It is stunning!

In an effort to help you finish up a project or two the shop is running a UFO special!  Bring a quilt top into the shop, anytime during the month of January and receive 20% off your batting and backing!  You know we love to see your quilt tops, and you all promise that you will bring it in to show us…Now’s the time!

The shop also received a lot of new fabric this week!

  • A 24 piece collection of Tonga Batiks (Brooklyn?)  Sue said to let you all know that is has been going fast!
  • A half collection of Dilly Dally by  for Moda
  • jelly rolls and charms from Dilly Dally as well

This is the fabric that feels fresh and springlike! Pink, blue, aqua, yellow, green and browns.  In fun dots, stripes, geometrics and a couple of fun florals.  If you have a little girls quilt in your future, this is the collection for you!

Well, maybe just one more new project would be ok….

Later, Sandra

  1. I love UFO challenges, we did it in Tues Bee last year. My challenge went from a pile of fabric and a magazine on my cutting board (in 3 different states) to a complete quilt on my bed upstairs. FABULOUS

    • Love it!!!!
