Snowbound again!

Several more inches of snow overnight and we are snowbound again!  Of course, we were all dressed for church and on our way before we realized we were stuck home…Oh well.  Welcome to life in a rural location I guess.

Haven’t seen my sewing room much but have played a lot of games and cards.  We had friends for dinner yesterday and played Apples to Apples for a couple of hours.  We really like this board game, since every player is on a  level field (unlike Trivial Pursuit lets say).  It also comes in several versions for kids too.  I think the neighborhood is getting together for a game night with all the kids, should be fun.  And luckily we have lemons…in case we need a lemon drop martini…

When my kids were little (and not so little) we made and decorated gingerbread houses for every holiday!  This year, I had to import a neighbor girl to come and help.  They had a good time complaining about the frosting (too sticky or not sticky enough), the candy, the colors, etc.  Reminds me of the old days when I had two of my own kids at home.

When we lived in Nebraska we could put the gingerbread houses outside for the squirrels to eat.  That was as much fun to watch as making the house.

My mother in law is due to fly to Canada in the morning, so let’s home the snowplows come through by then…

Did you all make it out for some after Christmas sales?  I wonder what the shop will be having on sale…

Later, Sandra

  1. Snowbound here in Virginia Beach too! Over a foot on the ground and it’s still snowing. Roads are becoming impassable and icing up underneath the snow.

Soooo, it’s not what’s On Sale at the Shop, it’s is the Shop Open?????

  2. Love Apples to Apples, too! Jarrett & Ayisha, John and his girlfriend Amy, Jim and I played games yesterday afternoon and evening…played in the snow earlier in the day, then on to Turbo Cranium, had a great dinner from Christmas dinner leftovers, and then played Apples to Apples…laughed until we cried…it was the best day after Christmas, ever! Safe, warm, family…
