A good day for slippers

Winter has hit Christiansburg, only about four inches of snow but 25 degrees and very, very windy!   I’m sure Winnie-the-Pooh would agree it is a blustery day.   A good day to stay inside with your slippers on!  Oh yeah, and the fireplace on too.

Speaking of slippers, check these out.

These are called “sole comfort” by Favorite Things.  ($14)  Guess what, they are made with minkee!!!!  Can you imagine how soft and yummy these are!  The inside is minkee, the outside cotton and on the bottom is this great non slip sole stuff.  The pattern includes ten different sizes, so you can make them for everyone on your Christmas list!  Well, maybe next years Christmas list.  I put bows on the shop sample, but the pattern includes several ideas to embellish with buttons, fringe yarn, etc.  They are so cute!

Here is a picture of the pattern cover, check out some of the fun embellishing they have done.  The sample will be in the shop by the end of the week, and the patterns are already on their way.

In other news, my daughter took the dogs to the new dog park in Blacksburg yesterday.  Because nothing says go outside like 25 degrees and snowing.  The dogs loved it!  Here is ‘poor’ Abby trying to recover from a day of playing, running and eating all the snow she can get to.

We’ve just about finished our Christmas cards this weekend, so I think I will definitely be back up with my sewing machine soon. No, my shopping is not done…and yes I still need to do some baking…but we won’t think about that right now.

Later, Sandra
